That being said, back to the point that this is nearly perfectly composed. Your background colors are, by themselves, impressive. Your subject matter is creative and thoughtful - the perfect, unique time to photograph whatever shrub or bush this is (they're in my front yard and I have no idea what they're called, haha). The texture is wonderful. The one flaw that I have to point out is that I feel like you really should have moved farther to the right... I love the background, but I feel like I'm seeing way too much of it. The focus in the horizontal perspective is good though.
Overall, I see this photo and I think of life. I think of new life, continuing life, and the tenacity of the living to continue on. And that is exactly what any photographer hopes for, a shot that makes people think. A shot that stops people in their tracks. And you've done just that. Congrats!
